Songkran festival in Thailand

Normally this time of year Thailand would celebrate the Thai New Year called Songkran and known for its crazy water war. However, since the politic turmoil in Thailand, the traditional Songkran festival been canceled and only water war is left in Bangkok.

You will still be able to see the normal Thai traditional Songkran festival with respect to elderly and such in any of the tourist destinations outside Bangkok.
We would advice tourist in Thailand to not book hotel in the Central parts of Bangkok it will be too much traffic jams and problems. Bangkok is also very hot this time of the year and should be only be visited for a short while.
